Hello Tank,
My name is Chevalo Wilsondebriano. I’m a retired NYC Fire Department (FDNY) Paramedic First Responder and 9/11 survivor of the second tower collapse.
In an effort to never forget my fallen co-workers and civilians lost, I regularly attend as many 9/11 commemorative events as possible – 9/11 vigils, runs, walks, ceremonies, including 9/11 motorcycle rides.
I had the honor of riding (along with my wife Monique) in your 2024 9/11 Memorial Ride and it was incredibly emotional and life changing! It was absolutely the greatest 9/11 commemorative event we had ever participated in.
Besides the outpouring of love from the community, I was blown away by the overall event organization, the logistics, the political support, the routing, the inclusion of veterans, the Amish involvement, the coordination among agencies, the number of jurisdictions traversed…it was something to behold, extremely inspirational…and something I hoped one day I could get the organizers of the 9/11 motorcycle ride in my current hometown – Charleston, South Carolina to witness for themselves.
I feel that it’s imperative that the Charleston, SC ride organizers experience your ride first hand and learn from what you’ve put together. I consider your ride to be the “gold standard” and on the highest level.
Although I’m not an official organizer of the Charleston 9/11 motorcycle ride, on my urging, the Charleston team will be attending your 2026 9/11 Memorial Ride. In order to create a travel window to Pennsylvania, the Charleston, SC ride that was originally scheduled for Saturday, September 12th was moved to Sunday, September 13th. This change allows the organizers to attend your ride then have adequate time to travel back to Charleston in time for their ride.
I’m so excited that Gary (G-Man) Goldman, the founder of the 9/11 Memorial Ride Charleston, SC will be riding in your ride, as well as Kelly Golden, Charleston influencer, radio personality and emcee of the 2026 Charleston 9/11 ride.
I anticipate you’ll be very busy in the hours prior to KSU, however if at all possible, we’d all love to meet you.
FYI – In 2024 I was able to catch up with Todd Winder (cc’d on this email). What a solid guy. I really wanted to meet you Tank as well, but you appeared so busy (understandably). People were pulling you in every direction, so I vowed to myself to try to pull you to the side next time
Looking forward to joining your ride again this year – this time along with the Charleston, SC team. Thanks for creating such a wonderful experience on behalf of the true heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11.
