Louis F. Johnson Jr. is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major and security executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in military operations, recruiting, retention, personnel management, and organizational leadership.
Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and raised in Montoursville, he graduated from Montoursville High School before enlisting in the United States Army in 1995. He completed Basic Combat Training and Fire Support Specialist (13F) Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1996.
Throughout his distinguished military career, Mr. Johnson served in numerous leadership and staff assignments, including with the 1st Armored Division in Germany, the 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Headquarters Department of the Army, the Pentagon, and United States Army Europe in Wiesbaden, Germany, where he concluded his military service as an Army Sergeant Major.
His leadership positions included serving as the Command Career Counselor for the Reserve Component in Europe, Army Test Policy Manager and Accessions Sergeant Major at the Pentagon, Deputy Commandant of the Recruiting and Retention NCO Academy, Senior Reserve Component Career Counselor for the 8th Army in Korea, Chief Instructor, Senior Small Group Leader, Senior Recruiting and Retention NCO, and Fire Support Sergeant.
Mr. Johnson earned a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management with a minor in Business Administration from Pennsylvania College of Technology. His military education includes the Sergeants Major Academy, How the Army Runs Course, Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, Commandant’s Pre-Command Course, and multiple advanced leadership and recruiting courses.
His military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, and numerous additional service and leadership awards.
Following his retirement from the Army, Mr. Johnson joined Dynamic Aviation in Bridgewater, Virginia, as Recruiting Manager, where he led recruiting initiatives and coordinated large-scale hiring events. In 2025, he was promoted to Director of Security and Facility Security Officer, overseeing the Bridgewater Airpark Police Department as well as facility and personnel security clearance programs.
Mr. Johnson also serves as Commander of American Legion Post 188 Shenandoah Valley within the Department of Virginia.
He and his wife, Anna, have been married since 2003 and reside in Rockingham County, Virginia, with their five children: Kerrie, Liberty, Bryson, Trinity, and Davin.
